Ziggi the Zombie Kitty was designed for the Scare Me crochet along on Instagram (@amigurumi_cal). She is cute but a little bit terrifying! Make her if you dare.
Ziggi is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in English using US (American) terminology. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Ziggi is approx. 15cm tall (6 inches).
You will need:
- 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
- 4ply yarn/fingering > less than 50g yarn in each colour: GREEN, PINK, BLACK, PURPLE and WHITE
- 1x 8mm safety eye
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
- When changing colour, pull through the new colour on the stitch before you need it. This will ensure that you have the correct colour yarn on the hook for the upcoming stitch.
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- I used the following yarns by Hobbii: o GREEN = Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col 24 o PINK = Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col 061 o BLACK = Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col 009 o PURPLE = Cotton Kings 8/4 in col 39 o WHITE = Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col 002
