Zig-Zag headband
The double-twisted headband is a super chic and quick knitting project that allows you to use yarn leftovers.
The headband is knitted in the round in stockinette stitch as a tube and the edges are sewn together forming a double or zig-zag twist. It is double-layered and it has no visible seams.
Sizes & Measurements:
The pattern comes in 3 sizes S, M, L.
Head circumference: 55, 57, 59 cm; 21.6, 22.4, 23.2 inch
Ease: Negative ease of ~6 cm, 2.4 inch
Materials:
DK weight yarn 50 g = 145 m (1.76 oz = 159 yd), wool blend (25% wool 75% acrylic)
Yardage: 48, 50, 52 g (1.69, 1.76, 1.83 oz); 139, 145, 151 m (152, 159, 165 yd); 1, 1, 2, skeins
Needles: 5.0 mm (US 8) circular needles or double-pointed needles or any size necessary to obtain the gauge.
Scissors, a marker, a tapestry needle, and a row counter are recommended.
For the model in the photo, Alize Superlana tig held double was used in color 463 Light Aqua.
Gauge:
19 sts x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4″)
worked in stockinette stitch after blocking.
Notes:
The headband is worked in the round.
Further sizes could be achieved by working shorter or longer headband.
