Zest Friends is the sister pattern to Simply the Zest, and includes two exciting shapes to choose from, a crescent-shaped shawl and a sideways triangle-shaped shawl. A giant thanks to my awesome test knitter moonmaden who suggested a triangle version!!!!

These shawls consist of a relaxing stockinette background combined with a fun wave stripe pattern. Only one color is worked at a time and is the perfect project for all your mini skeins or stash diving! A terrific way to use leftover sock yarn scraps and you can use as many colors as you like!!!

The pattern is fully written out with stitch counts and also includes a chart. Pattern includes instructions on 1/1 cabling without a needle. Feel free to use a cable needle if you prefer, I just like introducing new skills and techniques.

Crescent Shawl

Yarn: Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino/20% silk, 400yards/100grams)
Main Color (MC): Very Berry 600 yards (pink)
Accent Color One (C1): Florida Zest 30 yards (orange speckled)
Accent Color Two (C2): Foxy Lady 30 Yards (rust)
Accent Color Three (C3): Heavy Pour 40 Yards (purple)

Needles: US 4/3.5mm, 32” circular needles & one US 6/4mm for bind off

Notions: Cable Needle, (optional) Stitch Markers, T-pins and blocking wires for blocking

Gauge: 28 stitches = 4 inches in garter. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.

Finished Size: 16” deep x 68” wingspan after blocking. Finished dimensions will vary due to blocking and fiber content; the silk in the sample resulted in a very drapey shawl.
