This ethnographic mitten from the District of Zemgale, Latvia begins with a ribbed cuff in a solid color. While three colors are used throughout the upper mitten above the cuff, one and two colors are used to make the transition from the 2 x 2 ribbing to the upper mitten.

Changes to the yarn or needle size will impact the gauge and therefore the size of the finished mitten.
