ZANY ZIG ZAG is a quirky geometric pattern using simple overlay mosaic crochet techniques. As it is a seamless pattern, it can be used for bags, mats, blankets, cushions, table runners, in fact anything you can thing of!

TECHNIQUE

Basic overlay mosaic crochet. This uses three main stitches (in US terms): single crochet, double crochet and extended double crochet. It also uses only ONE COLOUR PER ROW, so no colour changing is required.

YARN AMOUNTS

This is a flexible pattern that can be made using any yarn. Because of this, please make a tension square using a For a 3 x 10-stitch by 1 x 30-row repeat so you can establish the likely final size and amount of yarn needed.

However, for my own swatch/sample using Stylecraft Special DK and a 4.00 mm hook, I used:

• (A) Used at the top and bottom of the swatch: 27 m
• (B)/(C) The additional two colours: 14 m for each
• (D) Used as the outline/highlight between zig zags: 12 m

MEASUREMENTS

For a 3 x 10-stitch by 1 x 30-row repeat using Stylecraft Special DK and a 4.00 mm hook, approximately: 6.5” x 6.5” (16.5cm x 16.5cm)
