If you think you’ve seen a similar pattern somewhere, you’re right! The color work technique for this pillow echoes the Zooey Pillow by Gwen Buttke McGannon (also in Interweave Crochet Fall 2019), but is worked completely differently. Finishing is minimal but adorable with kicky picot trimmings along the beginning and ending edges.
Difficulty Easy
Finished Size 12½“ wide and17” tall.
Yarn Lion Brand Yarns ZZ Twist (100% acrylic; 246 yd 225 m/ 3½ oz 100 g;): #763-098 ecru (A), #763-149 gray (B), #763-170 peacock (C), 1 ball each.
Hook Size F/5 (3.75 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions Safety pins; 12 × 16” pillow form, 1; yarn needle.
Gauge 20 dc and 9 rows = 4”.

NOTES
- Pillow is worked in the round with right side (RS) facing.
- Work double crochet in back loops only unless otherwise stated.
- To change color, work to last yarnover in old color, pick up new color, and complete stitch with new color.
- When working two-color rounds, carry nonworking color behind and work over unless otherwise stated.
- Each two-color round should line up with the previous two-color round.
