Story Made Yarns “The Hidden Valley Flock”, 100% Dorset-Coopworth Wool from Simcoe, Ontario, 168 yds (154 m) / 100 g. 1 (1, 1, 2) skeins of MC, 2 (2, 2, 2) skeins of CC.

Yardage: Approx. 135 (143, 160, 180) yds / 123 (131, 146, 165) m of MC. 171 (186, 204, 230) yds / 156 (170, 187, 210) m of CC.

Needles: US Size 4/ 3.5 mm & US Size 6/ 4 mm DPNs, or size necessary to obtain gauge.

Notions: Tapestry needle, markers for marking off chart sections (optional).

Gauge: 20 sts & 22 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stranded colourwork pattern, steam blocked.

Notes:

• Custom Calf Circumference: To customize the calf circumference to your own measurements, you can substitute the calf-shaping charts from other sizes for the chart called for in your chosen size. See Customization Tables for finished measurements and CO numbers for your custom combination. Increasing calf circumference will require additional yarn.

• Double-Knit Sole: The slipper sock is designed with a double-thick sole, thanks to a special technique of introducing a section of double-knitting into the colourwork, covering the sole portion of the foot after the heel is turned. The Double-Knit stitches are expressed as double the number that will actually face outward on the sole. For example, if there will ultimately be 13 sole stitches, the instructions will refer to 26 DK sts. For tutorials on how to treat these double knit sections, refer to the References.
