YYZ
Legends of Rock Pattern #6 - inspired by Rush
YYZ is the Morse Code identifier for the Toronto airport. It is transmitted in a continuous loop on a particular radio frequency that all aircraft approaching the airport receive. Geddy Lee and Neil Peart heard the rhythm while flying into Toronto on a small aircraft, and turned it into their most popular instrumental.
YYZ (the cowl) is a continuous narrow strip of cables creating the Morse Code pattern for YYZ. It loops around and you join it onto itself as you work.
The cable pattern is both written and charted. A photo tutorial is included in the pattern for joining the cowl onto itself as you work.
Skill Level: intermediate - requires simple cables and joining to the edge of the work as you go.
Yarn Requirements: 250 yards (230 m) DK weight yarn. Sample shown in Dye2Spin Merino DK in the “Moving Pictures” colorway.
Tech edited by Eleanor Dixon.
