Yeti and Bigfoot Amigurumi
With this pattern you can make a cute and cuddly Yeti or Bigfoot, in two different sizes. The little ones are approximately 6” tall (standing), and the big ones are about 9” tall. The smaller version is a slight adaptation of my Adorable Monster pattern, which you now receive free when you buy this pattern! You will need:
Yarn A for body:
Little version: approx. 50g yarn.
Big version: approx. 100g yarn.
Yarn B for face, hands and feet:
Little version: approx. 20g yarn.
Big version: approx. 25g yarn.
Small amount of black yarn to embroider mouth.
Stuffing.
Wire pet brush (slicker).
1 pair of 15mm (big) or 13.5mm (little) safety eyes
Tapestry needle.
Yarn used:
I used Stylecraft Alpaca DK for yarn A, in shades Cream (6010) for the Yeti and Bark (6019) for the Bigfoot. For yarn B I used Sirdar Country Style DK, shades Smokey Stone (389) for the Yeti and Macaroon (398) for the Bigfoot. Both yarns are made partly with manmade and partly with natural fibres, so if you use different yarns, try to find ones with some alpaca or wool in the mix, to give a nice texture.
You should be able to substitute a slightly thicker yarn, such as worsted weight, with no problems, though you may need to use a little more and go up a hook size.
Note: only the pattern for the larger characters is available in the bookazine ‘Amigurumi for Beginners’.
