Ya'ar
Ya’ar is a stylish and elegant design. The pattern includes directions for both long and short sleeves, making this the perfect knit for every season. Ya’ar is designed with Autumn and Indigo’s Classic Sport, a 100% sw merino sport weight yarn, which knits up beautifully and gives the garment a fabulous drape. Ya’ar is worked in the round from the bottom up, then divided at the armholes to work front and back separately. The sleeves are worked in the round by picking up stitches around the armhole. Ya’ar is designed to have some negative ease around the bust. After finishing the lace section at the bottom, it’s worked up rather quickly because there are hardly any purl rows.

Choosing the right size is of utmost importance. Take your body measurements and choose the size that corresponds with them. The recommended ease for this design is approx. 5 cm (2 inch) of negative ease. The measurements below are the finished garment measurements, not your own.

MATERIALS
Needles: 4 mm circular needle (US size 6, UK size 8) or other needle size that matches gauge. I recommend using an 80 cm or 100 cm circular for the body, depending on the size you’re knitting. The sleeves can be worked on a 40 cm circular needle, but DPNs or the magic loop method may be easier for the smaller sizes.
3,5 mm 60 cm circular needle (US size 4, UK size 9) for the neck ribbing, and 3,5 mm DPNs or circular needle for the sleeve ribbing. You can use DPNs or the magic loop method with a longer circular needle.
Yarn: Sport weight yarn, approximately 1000, (1100, 1200, 1300) (1450, 1550, 1650) (1750, 1850, 1950) meters / 1100, (1210, 1320, 1430) (1600, 1700, 1810) (1920, 2030, 2150) yards for the long sleeved version. The short sleeved version requires approx. 300 meters / 328 yards less. I used Classic Sport from Autumn and Indigo, a 100% sw merino yarn that comes in 100 g skeins (à 300 meters / 328 yards). You can also use any other sport weight yarn that matches gauge.
Other tools: Darning needle, scissors, stitch markers, scrap yarn OR extra cable.
GAUGE
24 sts x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm; on 4 mm needles in stockinette stitch.
