Wyrt Socks
This pattern was originally written as a Mystery KAL in the Solid Socks group in Nov/Dec 2015. Please do check there to see a whole host of inspirational projects.
Wyrt (or Wort) is the old English word for root and these socks were inspired by the twisted and gnarled tree roots found on one of our favourite woodland walks.
The pattern is toe-up with a garter stitch short row heel and is offered in 3 sizes to fit a foot circumference of 7 (8, 9)“. Bold central cables wind up the front of the sock whilst the back is left plain for comfort and to ensure a good fit. Cables could also be added to the back if desired but please bear in mind that this might reduce the circumference of the finished sock and adjust your stitch count accordingly.
