Wrapture rag shawl
When I was designing 2 knitwear collections a year I would clean out my yarn shelves knitting “Rag” sweaters, like rag rugs. People loved them, and I loved making them best. Its the perfect way to go through your stash of odds and ends of yarn, just tie on the next color, and the next, and keep going. Combine thin yarns to get bulky, play with it and have some colorful fun!
This is my classic chunky Shawl Wrap that I have sold for years. I usually blend 10 to 20 silk, cotton, and kid mohair threads to get my own special blends of colors. Use what you already have.
After a lot of requests I asked my friend Catherine Salter Bayar to write a hand knitting pattern that can easily be adjusted for size.
With this basic pattern you can knit any size, any weight and any width. Notes are added so that you can also knit my classic kid mohair infinity scarf, as seen in the last 3 photos.
Enjoy your Wrapture!
