Woolly Monkey Amigurumi
With this pattern you can make yourself an adorable Woolly Monkey in two different ways. Either use a mohair-based yarn to make a lovely furry one, or use ordinary yarn to make a smooth one. When you choose your yarn, try to find one with a bit of texture and perhaps a mix of colours for interest.
The pattern is quite straightforward and suitable for beginner/intermediate crocheters. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow if you know the basic stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi, with photos to help you.
Yarn requirements:
Use double knitting (dk) weight yarn. This is equivalent to light worsted, although worsted weight should work just fine, as long as you use the same weight of yarn throughout.
Main yarn for body: Approx 60g yarn, double knitting weight.
- alternatively, approx 60g mohair mix or similar type of yarn, equivalent to double knitting weight.
Yarn for face, ears, paws and feet: Approx 20g yarn, double knitting weight.
Yarn for stripes in tail: Approx 10g yarn, double knitting weight.
You will also need:
Stuffing.
Wire pet brush (slicker).
1 pair of 15mm safety eyes
Tapestry needle.
3.5mm hook (US E hook).
Finished size: approximately 7” tall
