Woolly Friends was published in Simply Crochet Magazine, last Summer.

It is an homage to one of my favourite animals and best friend of a crocheter or knitter. We all need balls of yarn to craft, right?!!!

The blanket has the perfect size for a baby but you can easily customize size by adding or reducing patterns repeats.

There are 2 versions of the pattern - a US English terms and a UK English terms. Both versions are available with or without photos.

The pattern is great for a newbie to mosaic crochet as it has photos for every row of the blanket and every round of the border. Pattern also has written instructions and charts for every one of the 3 patterns - hearts, sheep’s and balls of yarn.

Materials

In my sample I used Stylecraft Special DK and a 4 mm / G-6 hook.

Finishing Size

A swatch with 21 sts x 13 rows, measures approximately 10.5 cm x 7 cm (4.1” x 2.8”). The swatch was made using 1 repeat of pattern 1, plus 3 sts (two of them are the border sts).

Final size of the blanket is 80 cm x 100 cm (31.5” x 39.3”), approximately.

Note that your final size will change due to your crochet tension or the yarn you use. You can customize the size of your blanket by adding or decreasing repeats of the pattern, but keep in mind that this will affect the amount of yarn required.
