An intuitive lace pattern creates the illusion of comfy cables in this 3-in-1 cowl/balaclava/hat pattern. Knit in the round using 1 skein of yarn it is a perfect project for gifting or wrapping yourself in some luxury yarn.
It can be worn as a balaclava or wimple pulled up over the head, around the neck as a cowl, or cinch one end closed for a fun and whimsical hat. Any way you wear it you will be both warm and stylish!
Pattern takes 4-6 hours to complete for most knitters, depending upon experience and modifications made. The stitch pattern is present in both written and charted formats.
Some words from the test knitters:
Hobobird says, “I really like this pattern for many reasons. It’s a very simple and intuitive pattern whether you use the written or charted directions. It’s easy enough for a beginning knitter and has more than enough interest and texture to satisfy a well experienced and hard to please knitter.”
“Looks absolutely wonderful without going to too much trouble,” says fairiesandpixies.
According to Galia, “the pattern is clever, simple to follow, intuitive and easy to memorize.”
This pattern was updated to the latest Designedly, Kristi pattern layout in March 2013 which included the addition of more metric measurements.
