It is important to choose the right yarn for this project and to match gauge. The yarn is slightly more chunky than an average bulky, but much less chunky than a superbulky.
It works well in DB chunky yarns on 7mm needles, but you may need to alter needles to match the gauge.

Good substitutes that worked in Wolf River tests were:
Cascade Yarn, Bollicine Revolution
Bulky weight/ 90%merino wool, 10% polyamide 50g / 1.76 oz.. 80m/g 87 yard. Approx 75g-80g (1 and a part ball) including pompon.
