Additional Terms:
Working in the 3rd loop of an hdc: Look at the top of the stitch, and locate the sideways “V”, bend the stitch to look at the back, and you should see another “V” made by the “yarn over”. You’ll be working into the back loop of that “V”, this is the yarn over and is called the 3rd loop.

Additional Notes:
-Ch 1 at beginning of round does not count as a stitch. All other chains are counted as stitches unless otherwise indicated.
-It is possible to make this hat slightly smaller or larger by going up or down a hook size.
-When the round begins with a puff v-stitch, you can minimize your seam by joining into the ch-1 sp at the center of the v-stitch instead of into the puff st itself.
-This hat uses lots of puff stitches. Puff stitches eat yarn. You have been forewarned.
-Each hat has the same brim but it starts in a different spot on each size due to the way the various lengths work out. See tutorial images at the bottom of the post for those last 2 rounds.
