This hat starts out in garter stitch and then continues on up with the basketweave stitch. It’s very similar to my Green Manos Hat pattern but this pattern is for a thicker, bulkier yarn. I needed only one skein and had a little left over. The top of the hat can either be closed up by pulling the yarn through the live stitches or, as I preferred, to kitchner stitch the top for a seamless look; either way, it’s a practical and pretty hat.
