Winter Reflections offers two cowl designs: an infinity cowl and a shawl-styled cowl.

The infinity cowl starts with a provisional cast on and consists of fair isle patterns sandwiched between a simple textured lace stitch. The shawl-styled cowl begins with a garter-tab cast on and is worked flat until you’ve reached the neck circumference. Once the neck circumference is achieved, the cowl is joined and worked in-the-round with a fair isle pattern sandwiched between garter stitch. (And if you don’t like to work garter st in-the-round, there is a video tutorial included that shows you how to work garter in-the-round without purling.)

INFINITY COWL

YARN
One skein of Marianated Yarns Practicality (75% superwash merino/25 nylon, 463 yds/100 g) in Galileo’s Glass (MC) and six mini skeins from the Marianated Yarns 12 Days of Knitmas Icicles & Rainbows – Advent Calendar Style (12 individually wrapped Lynnette minis - 46 yds/10 g in Practicality (contrasting colors CCs))
OR
450 yards of equivalent fingering weight yarn and 40 yards each of equivalent fingering weight yarn for each of the 6 CCs (total yardage required for CCs is approximately 240 yards)

Two US 4/3.50 mm 16-inch circular needles
One Size F crochet hook (optional – only if using crochet provisional cast on)

Waste yarn for provisional cast on and holding live stitches
