This pretty shawl is worked seamlessly in two parts and once finished, resembles a Faroese Crescent. The Shawl Body is worked first, utilizing a center-out construction. Upon completion of the first section, a Knitted-On Border is worked and consumes live stitches from Shawl Body, negating the need for a traditional bind-off. The shape may look peculiar as you knit, but as with most lace knitting, it blooms into a gorgeous finished shape after blocking.

MATERIALS
Approximately 825 yards of fingering weight wool yarn
3 skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Loft (100% American Targhee-Columbia Wool; 275 yards/50g)
Note: Our sample used almost all of the third skein – we recommend purchasing a fourth to make sure you have enough yarn to finish.

GAUGE
Finished Gauge: 22 stitches & 32 rows = 4” measured over half- twisted rib pattern, with relaxed fabric after lace-blocking
Blocked-To Gauge: Shawl radius was stretched to 23” during blocking, creating a “blocked-to” gauge of 16 stitches & 25 rows = 4” in twisted rib pattern, measured over Knitted-On Border
