Wings of a Prayer
Wings of a Prayer is free indefinitely as we fight our way through Covid-19 until there is a cure/vaccine.
I was inspired to name this lovely shawl design, “Wings of a Prayer” because I had been in deep thought and prayer for a very dear friend. What better way to send those prayers than on the wings of a beautiful prayer shawl ♥ ….a prayer in every bead and nupp!
Knit top down in a crescent shape and flows into a half circle design, and finished off with lovely lace scallops where you can choose a beaded/non-beaded picot bind off, crochet bind off or traditional bind off. There are also options to knit nupps in the body and edging and/or place beads throughout the shawl.
Charts only at this time and easy purled rows on the WS of the shawl.
Small approximately 54”x20”
Medium approximately 56”x22”
Large approximately 64”x24”
Sizes depend on weight of yarn and gauge, so numbers are approximate.
ERRATA on rows 24 and 25 of Chart One
Here is the written solution for Row 24 for the Large and XLarge size. The chart currently shows row 25 but I’m going to do away with the charted rows 24 and 25 and include written instructions only. It’s too confusing as it is now and the math is wrong!
LG/XLG: After row 23 you should have 260 sts:
Row 24: slip with yarn in front, k3, p1, pfb, (p2, pfb)x2, p1, {(p2, pfb)x2, p3, pfb, (p2, pfb)x2, p2} x 13, (p1, pfb)x4, p1, k3, p1
This adds: 3 sts + 13x5sts=65 sts + 4 sts = 72 sts + 260 = 332 sts for Chart 2B
Small coming soon!
NOTE: Chart Two-A red repeat lines should be moved to the left side of columns 19 and 37 through row 15. From there the markers will move due to the sk2tpsso sts and corresponding yo’s. After the first row of sk2tpsso sts, use these sts as your marker and guide. Until I can get the time to redo the chart completely (it was lost on my computer), please forgive the inconvenience.
