Winged Samara
SPREAD the LOVE I’m feeling the winter doldrums and want to spread a little cheer and love. 50% off all my patterns!!
Winged Samara is a crescent shaped shawl knit in one piece from the center-top outward. It is shaped by all the increasing being done on the edging. With both charts and written instructions, knitters are able to choose the most comfortable way to follow the pattern.
The pattern name comes from the proper term for a maple wing, which always sparks a favorite childhood memory - my Grandfather & I, splitting those wings and sticking them to the end of our noses. Can you see them in the stitch motif?
