The Windowpane Hat is a quick and cozy knit inspired by the diamond patterns in antique leaded glass. It is a women’s one-size-fits-most. The brim of the hat is designed to fully cover the ears, so if you prefer a shorter hat, you can reduce the number of ribbing or non-cabled rows.

MATERIALS
1 hank Madelinetosh A.S.A.P., or 90 yards of
equivalent bulky/super bulky yarn
Size US 9/5.5mm DPNs or circular needle, or size
needed to obtain gauge
Cable needle
Tapestry needle
Scissors

GAUGE
12sts x 18 rows = 4in/10cm in Stockinette Stitch, on size US 9/5.5mm needles

Please be sure to check your gauge on this hat - depending on the brand of yarn, either bulky or super bulky weights will work (Sample shown in Madelinetosh ASAP is considered super bulky, but it is on the thinner side. Super Bulkies like Lion Brand Thick & Quick or Malabrigo Rasta will come out on the larger side if gauge is not adjusted). The finished hat should have a height of 9in/22.5cm and a circumference of 18in/45cm.
