To knit: This combines the three units used so far in flat designs: the square, the rectangle and the triangle. Except for the square containing the star, the pattern is the same as the Two and Two design used in the bedspread. However, with only one color in the background ,of this design, the order of the rectangular units is simpler. To avoid breaking the1 yarn, which is jumbo, the thickest on the market (in 1952), use two balls. Each unit is cast off loosely on the right side of the work and picked up later through the far loops of the cast-off stitches.

The Star is knitted in yellow first. Then knit the background for the star in Blue wool.

To make the design larger or smaller, change yarn weight and needle size accordingly.
