Anemones have always been one of my favorite flowers, with their large single petals, and delicate stems… But I have always found the word to be so hard to say! (You can laugh at me now.) So I went digging around on the Internet, and discovered that the common name for several varieties has the word “windflower” in it. This was perfect. For one thing, I can say it. Plus, this field of windflowers will help protect you from winter’s chilly winds.

Cowl is worked in the round. Knitting begins with a huge number of stitches, most of which go into that optional ruffled edge. A somewhat loose I-cord is used to bind off, and to provide a neatly finished edge to balance the loops on the opposite edge.

Sizes (circumference x height):
37 x 8 (31 x 18, 45 x 23) inches
94 x 20 (79 x 46, 115 x 59) cm.

Yarn: 400 (755, 1400) yards yards fingering weight yarn.

Skills: knitting in the round, k2tog, k4tog, p4tog, double YO, cable cast on, I-cord bind off

Other supplies: One stitch marker required. Lifelines and additional stitch markers are optional.

Stitch patterns: Written only.
