Level: Intermediate

This hat was designed to show off “Whole Herd” the custom limited-edition undyed multi-colored marled yarn I have spun from my own herd of alpacas. It’s an Aran/Worsted weight yarn.

The Yurt Hat features a Garter Rib in the main section with stockinette crown and earflaps. It fits an average adult - measuring about 19” in total circumference at the opening, and about 8” tall from the base to the top.

The hat is worked circularly from the top down to the brim. The earflaps are worked back and forth. No charts or seams! It’s a simple one page project, but changes in stitch and easy shaping make it interesting.
