The White Star afghan/blanket features an original graphic mosaic pattern. The blanket, the Mill Star cushion cover and the Ivory Star cushion cover make a great design feature for your house. The blanket and cushion covers are knitted in blocks, in mosaic garter stitch. Malabrigo Yarn Rios used for the sample is a 100% merino yarn which grows when blocking. Using different fibres might affect the size of the blanket.

The yarns used for the sample:

• MC Malabrigo Yarn Rios, #704 Ivory
• CC1 Malabrigo Yarn Rios, #696 Whole Grain
• CC2 Malabrigo Yarn Rios, #429 Cape Cod Gray

Approximate amounts needed:

• MC 650 g / 23 oz
• CC1 250 g / 8.8 oz
• CC2 400 g / 14.1 oz

The White Star blanket pattern blocks are numbered from 8 to 16. If you’ve already made the Mill Star cushion or the Ivory Star cushion and would like to make your blanket match, then you can substitute any of square blocks 1 - 3 from Mill Star or 4 - 7 from Ivory Star. You can mix and match square blocks from each pattern to create your own design. Please don’t try to substitute the border blocks though, as they are different sizes.
