Where the Snakes Went Poncho
When I saw The Fibre Company’s new yarn, Arranmore Light, which is made in the Republic of Ireland, I was inspired to create a poncho with random cables to resemble snakes. (Rumor has it that St. Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland.) The poncho consists of two identical rectangular pieces, 25” x 49”, which are sewn together, leaving an opening for the neck. The poncho can be worn two ways–as a boat neck or a V-neck.
The “snakes” consist of three stitches and are created by making a double increase. Each piece has six snakes.
