The Westing Cowl combines a variety of constructions and stitch patterns to make a high-impact accessory. It begins as a ribbed cowl worked in the round and then uses short rows to build the bandana neckline for an eye-catching lace panel. Sublime DK from Black Trillium Fibres works perfectly in the design, lending softness, drape and superb stitch definition. The pattern will keep your interest from beginning to end, with a beautiful result.

This pattern contains both fully charted and written instructions.

Recommended Yarn:
Black Trillium Fibres Sublime DK — 100% superwash merino — 260 yds (238 m) to 100 g. Shown in colorways Saffron (Color A) and Charcoal (Color B). Cowl uses most of both skeins—approx. 520 yds (475 m) in total.

Sizing:
21.5” (55 cm) from top of cowl to bottom point; 24” (61 cm) around neck.

Blocked Gauges:
23 sts and 31 rows to 4” (10 cm) in stockinette st, worked flat.
22 sts and 32 rows to 4” (10 cm) in lace pattern, worked in the round.
24 sts and 30 rows to 4” (10 cm) in 5x1 ribbing, worked in the round.

PLEASE NOTE: Changes in gauge will affect finished size, look of motifs, and amount of yarn used. To meet these dimensions and to ensure enough yarn, use needle size that gives gauge.

Needles:
US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needles, 16” and 24” lengths, plus US 6 (4 mm) needle for bind-off.
