This is a pattern for a pair of socks that is knit from the top (cuff) down on two circular needles, with an optional 12-inch needle..

The socks themselves are created using Alpine Cable stitches, so that cable knitters will love them. The cables will add both a little warmth and durability to the socks, as well as show off your knitting prowess. Alpine cables, unlike Aran cables are usually cabled every round and all the knit stitches in the cable are knit through the back loop.

The stitch is both written out and charted.

The directions are written for all three sizes: Small, Medium,Large and X-Large (and is sized by gauge). If you go up to a size Large or X-Large, be sure to adjust your yarn to coordinate with your needle size.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting, some sock experience and cabling).

The yarn used to make the sample pair is Handmaiden’s Prosecco in colorway, Mulberry.

The sample was expertly test knitted by Karen Bowen who can be reached at: ktbowen18@msn.com
