Wendie Arm Warmers
The Wendie Armwarmers were designed to make my friend feel pretty and keep her toasty & cozy while she is receiving chemo.
They also happen to be the easiest pattern in the universe to adjust for size. All increases are done on the inside of the arm and do not affect the lace panel whatsoever. PLUS, since they are knit from the wrist(or ankle!) up, you can try them on as you go to make sure you’re staying on track with fit.
While you can use at least 280 yd of any heavy worsted/aran weight yarn that gives you the right gauge, I recommend:
Arcane Fiberworks Worsted
100% Merino Superwash, 161m (181yd) = 100g, 2 skeins
OR
Purl Soho Daily Wool
100% Superwash Wool, 150m (164yd) = 100g, 2 skeins
OR
Cascade 220 Superwash Aran
100% Superwash Merino Wool, 150yd = 100gr, 2 skeins
OR
Knitpicks Muse Aran
100% Superwash Merino Wool, 114yd = 100gr
My tester could have used a 3rd skein as she ALMOST lost a game of yarn chicken by inches. So, 3 skeins
Needles: US 7 (4.5mm) and US 8 (5mm) 32”-40” circular needles (for Magic Loop) OR DPNs
Gauge: 4.5 sts/inch on larger needles in stockinette st
Skills required: Various increases and decreases, Knitting in the round using Magic Loop or Double-Pointed needles, Tubular Sewn bind off. My favorite videos are linked in the pattern if you’ve not tried these skills yet.
As with all KellyK Knits patterns, please reach out if you have questions.
