Weldraad Hap
A wonderfully cosy and versatile shawl, based on the Shetland Hap Shawl tradition. The shawl is knit from the bottom up, in a simple garter stitch pattern. When knit with a fingering weight yarn held together with a mohair lace you get a warm, yet light weight fabric with a beautiful halo and lovely drape.
Material:Approx. 200 g / 850 m (930 yards) of fingering weight wool and Approx. 75 g / 630 m of Mohair brushed lace (kid mohair/silk)
Suggested yarn: The shown sample is knit with 2 skeins of Weldraad Torino (a wool/silk/ramie mix) and 3 balls of Canard Mohair Brushed Lace (a kid mohair/silk mix)
Gauge: 22 stitches and 33 rows = 10 cm (4”) in garter stitch
Measurements:Approx. 130 cm (50”) wide and 65 cm (26”) high. You can easily make the shawl larger or smaller by adding or subtracting pattern repeats.
