This fun beanie and scarf explore a couple of different colourwork techniques in light and airy Laja alpaca and merino yarn.
The simple mosaic pattern on the beanie creates an interesting geometric detail between the colour blocks. Alternatively, the mosaic pattern between the colour blocks can be omitted or the beanie can be worked in a single colour.
The scarf uses a shadow knitting technique to create a subtle optical illusion. It is worked in 2-row stripes. Every right-side row is a knit row and every wrong-side row is worked in off-set garter ridges which amplify the colour.
This beanie and scarf require average to intermediate knitting skills.
