Wee Woodlanders Scarf
This cosy scarf is covered in cute woodland themed motifs. It is knitted in the round so there is no wrong side and all the floats are hidden on the inside! The motifs are added using the stranded colourwork (Fair Isle) technique and there are only ever two colours in a row, which makes it a fairly easy project for those new to this technique. The motifs are knitted upside down on the second half of the scarf so that they are all the right way up when hung around your neck.
The scarf is knitted using a DK weight wool yarn, in five different colours, on a 4mm/US 6 circular needle.
Suggested shades and yarn amounts:
250g/610yds in Brown/MC, 80g/220yds in Orange, 80g/220yds in Green, 40g/98yds in White and 30g/74yds in Red
Finished size: Length 178cm/70in; width 20cm/8in
The motifs include eight woodland animals, leaves, trees and toadstools; you can choose to use them all as pictured or just repeat a few of them. The motifs could also be used for other projects.
The pattern includes line by line written instructions as well as charts for the motifs.
This scarf would make a lovely set with my Wee Woodlanders Mittens pattern.
