Take a tactile journey through the advent of Spring with this light, airy shawl. Textures are used as a narrative in this pattern. Begin with my Sprouted Seed stitch, which is a variation on broken seed stitch. This will start you off with a solid foundation to grow on and give you a feel for the shaping that will carry throughout. Next you will introduce roots, represented by the delicate, braided cable that is worked vertically onto the edge of your Sprouted Seed section. Then you will add mini leaves to your roots in the main lace portion of your shawl. Creeping Vines come next, climbing up along the edge of your leaves. After the vines are established, next come the pollinators in your Bee Stitch section. Finally, let your shawl erupt with a flurry of lace flowers and butterflies, representing the peak of Spring beauty. You will want to water (soak) your finished shawl and wet block to allow the lace sections to truly bloom. You may choose to adorn your ends with tassels. This shawl is perfect for your Spring/Summer wardrobe and looks great worn as a scarf or over your shoulders.  

It can be worked in a single color or multiple colors. Feel free to experiment with different weight yarns and needle sizes. The multi‐color shawl (pictured in pinks and grey) is DK weight worked on size US 8 needles, which produced an overall larger shawl than the original yellow fingering weight version on size US 6 needles. The original uses a single skein of Anzula Luxury Yarn on their Squishy base in the colorway Ducky.
