Way Around the Border Squared
Mariola Malinowska and Elżbieta Sroczyńska joked about a crochet train ride around the border of Poland. They challenged me to make a design for a quick shawl to do on the trip. Way Around The Border (WATB) is the result. This is the square version of the WATB shawl. (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/way-around-the-b...)
This is a square pattern worked from the bottom up. There are no repeats, the whole design is represented. The pattern can be used for anything from a pillow/cushion cover, table runner, table cloth, placemat, dresser cover, or as a larger item for across the end of the bed.
This pattern is for beginners.
Yarn:
I suggest KoKonki Motki Ombre (50% cotton, 50% acrylic), KoKonki Motki Ombre Merino (50% merino, 50% acrylic), KoKonki Motki Ombre Shine (6% metallic lurex 47% cotton 47% acrylic), or KoKonki Motki Ombre Soft (100% acrylic).
Available online at kokonki.pl. #kokonki #kokonkimotkiombre
They also have a range of Scheepjes and YarnArt Flowers, yarn which would also be suitable for this project.
Only 1800m is required for the square component of the project. You will need additional yarn to edge in a method of your own choosing. I used a 3.5mm hook. My square measured 145cm.
