The Wavy Mitts & Cap are great for either semi-solid or any hand painted fingering weight yarn. The wave and chevron pattern gracing the edges of both the mitts and the cap play well with color changes. Start by making the wavy cuff, which finishes later with buttons at the inside wrist, and then pick up stitches to make the mitt hand in a series of single and double crochet stitches, shaping the thumb gusset as you go. Then finish with a bit more wavy and you have a mitt. The hat starts with more bands of waviness and decreases on the crown with the same single-double crochet alternation as the mitt hand. Add some larger matching buttons to the hat band and you’re ready for a jaunty promenade about town.
