Waves Gone BY
This was my first ever KAL!!
The pattern and I was part of a fabulous group of 15 designers chosen for the DFW Designers Volume 1, a Knit Along support group for subscribers to the first ever collection of knit patterns from our local Dallas/Ft. Worth designers. I hope you like this project~
Waves Gone By, a freestyle, beautiful shawl that is not the usual fare.
I am grateful to Shellee of HauteKnitYarn to dive in with me on this one. I created this shawl in just one skein of her Ultra Soft Merino Superwash Yarn in a fingering weight.
It’s different from anything I have ever done and simple enough to knit even for beginners.
Oh and also this is more like a fun knit-a-long KAL, not one with clues to be released in increments.
Test knitters are saying: “it’s addictive”, “can’t put it down” and “looks more complicated then it is”, “even beginners could tackle this one”, “great first lace project”…
Measurements of blocked shawl:
The pink shawl featured in the collage photo is knitted with US size 7 needle after blocking 52” by 20” at widest.
The blue/orange one in main photo is knitted with US size 9 needle needle after blocking 56.5” by 20” at widest. It looks a bit more lacy and is a bit more generous.
NOTE: You could also make the shawl even on both sides, in which case you need more yarn of course~
