Warm Crochet Hat for Winter Days
Many readers who are proficient with the crochet hook, are not knitters, so for them this week we have a crochet instead of a knitted pattern. What more cosy on a cold winter’s day than a bright warm crocheted hat fitting closely to the head, and what more proof against the winds that blow? For young or old, in tonings to match the winter wardrobe, this hat would be a welcome and very much used addition to the winter supply of headgear.
In all, four ounces at Paton’s Beehive fingering wool in 3-ply are required — two ounces of the dark shade, and one ounce each of the light and medium shades, if the choice of tonings in this pattern are followed. A number 9 crochet hook is used, and the tension such as to produce 6 double crochet to an inch.
