Warble is a looped or infinity cowl featuring a symmetrical arrangement of seed stitch, cables, and lace. It’s worked flat (back and forth) from a provisional cast on. After blocking, the two ends are joined with a three-needle bind-off to create the loop.
The pattern provides instructions for the crochet provisional cast on and three-needle bind-off, as well as helpful links.
Finished (Blocked) Measurements: 7.5 inches/19 cm height by 49 inches/124.5 cm circumference
Materials:
• 375–400 yds/343–366 m sport/DK weight yarn. Sample shown was knit with Quince & Co. Chickadee 100% American wool; 181yd/166m per 50g skein, colorway: Sedum, and required slightly more than 2 skeins.
• US #5/3.75mm needles OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Crochet hook in size G/4.0 mm, smooth waste yarn, spare knitting needle for three-needle bind-off, tapestry needle
Gauge:
22 sts/32 rows = 4”/10 cm in lace pattern after blocking
21 sts/32 rows = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking
Difficulty: Advanced beginner/intermediate. Experience with lace knitting and/or cables is helpful.
