Wander Mittens
Wander Mittens are a bottom-up stranded mitten. They are cast on at the cuff with a short ribbing then stranded colorwork throughout the remainder of mitten construction. A thumb gusset is made and then held to be worked later for thumb. Mitten is seamless and worked in-the-round.
The fabric is meant to be dense enough to minimize wind but not dense enough to hurt your hands while making. Lettlopi, specifically wool from Icelandic sheep, makes for a practically dense and weather-resistant mitten.
Additional gauge information:
The pattern is written to make an adult large. Size adjustments can be made by changing needle size and/or yarn using the same instructions. Note that yardage usage will differ if knit in different size and gauge than size and gauge in pattern.
Yardage estimates:
MC - 125/58g
CC - 100y/46g
CC2 (optional) - 11y/5g
Pattern includes both written and charted instructions, written schematic and tips & techniques to be used throughout the pattern.

long-tail cast on
backwards loop cast on
picking up stitches
