The Walking with Nala shawl is created with two yarns, a DK and a lace-weight. Two samples are photographed: the light brown version is made in KOKON’s yarns, while the white one is knitted in various yarns from the designer’s stash. The samples are knitted in a single colour, but you can also work the lace and garter sections in different colours or use a gradient yarn!

This pattern can be easily adapted by changing the thickness or length of the yarn used.
It’s also fun to combine leftover yarns, regardless of their thickness or material, and knit until they’re all used up.
To fully enjoy this shawl, it’s important not to use just one type of yarn throughout. Instead, try combining two or more colors if the base is the same, or switch the base while keeping the color the same—this will create a smooth and beautiful transition between pattern sections.
You can also easily adjust the length and width by changing the number of lace and garter stitch repeats.

NOTE
Walking with Nala は２種類の糸を使って編む, 変形台形ショールです. 片方の端から増し目をしながらガーターとレースを交互に編み, 中央にレース模様を入れたあと, 減らし目をしながらもう片方の端に向かって, ガーターとレースを交互に編みます. ショールの左端のケーブルはショール全体を通してC1で編んでいます.
このパターンは使用する糸の太さや, 長さなど, 簡単にアレンジができます.
太さや素材にこだわらず, あまり糸を組み合わせてなくなるまで編むのも楽しいです.
このショールを楽しんでいただくために大切なのは, 全て同じ糸を使うのではなく, 同じベースであれば, 2 色以上を組み合わせること, もしくは, 同じ色であれば, ベースを変えると, 模様の切り替えがきれいにつながっていきます.
レースとガーターの繰り返しの回数を変えることで, 長さや幅も簡単に調整できます.

HUOMIOITA 
Walking with Nala on epäsäännöllinen puolisuunnikkaan muotoinen huivi. Se neulotaan tasona sivusuuntaisesti toisesta reunasta alkaen. 

Mallia on helppo muokata: se sopii neulottavaksi monilla erilaisilla langoilla, joko juuri tätä huivia varten hankituilla tai toisten projektien jämälangoilla (kuten valkoinen mallikappale).  Erilaisilla lankavahvuuksilla, väreillä ja pintatekstuureilla voi saavuttaa kauniin lopputuloksen.

Huomioithan, että lopulliset mitat ja neuletiheys eivät ole oleellisia tässä mallissa. Huivin pituus esimerkiksi riippuu kerrostiheydestä, joka puolestaan vaihtelee käytetyn langan mukaan. Mitat ja neuletiheys kuitenkin vaikuttavat langan menekkiin. Ohjeessa ilmoitettu menekki on viitteellinen arvio.

Kun vaihdat lankaa, tuo uusi lanka ensimmäisen langan alapuolelta. 
 
Huivin vasemman reunan palmikko neulotaan koko huivin mitalta V1:llä.
