Violoncello
The winter holiday season is approaching quickly, and many celebrations can include parties, dressing up, bright colors, wine, and music. My Festivia collection includes designs that subtly reflect the season.
Inspired by the beautiful scroll atop the violoncello, this fair-isle cowl offers a classic, timeless style. See my shop home page for the matching beanie.
I provide a cast-on chart for 4 different gauges (22, 24, 26, and 28 sts = 4”), and 4 sizes (21”, 22”, 23”, and 24” circumference), and include the multiple needed to make a larger size. This gives you the option of using DK, sport or fingering weight yarn to make the cowl. The main color makes up about 55% of total yarn used, and the other two colors make up about 22.5% each.
Materials used for sample:
Knit Picks Palette: 1 skein each color (shown in Douglas Fir, Verdant Heather, and Brindle Heather)
(appr 180 yards in all for sample shown; weight of sample is 38g)
Finished approximate measurements of sample, after blocking:
Circumference: 21”
Height: 7 ½”
