Vincent (starry, starry night) è il titolo di una canzone di Don McLean, uscita nel 1971 e dedicata al pittore Vincent Van Gogh e a uno dei suoi dipinti più celebri (Notte Stellata). Questo scialle è nato in modo fortuito, da un’ispirazione abbastanza indiretta. Un giorno vidi una matassa tinta da Lorena Prina (Live or Dye Yarns - Goga Knits) con i colori di un quadro di Monet e le ho lanciato una provocazione: “Se fai Starry Night, fammi un fischio”. Lei ha accettato la sfida e mi ha preparato questa matassa favolosa. Il titolo musicale mi è stato suggerito da Debora Salza ed eccoci qui.

Vincent (starry, starry night) is the title of a song written by Don McLean in 1971 and dedicated to Vincent Van Gogh and to one of his most famous paintings (Starry Night). This shawl was born for a random inspiration. One day I saw a yarn dyed by Lorena Prina (Live or Dye - Goga Knits) with the colors of a painting by Monet and I challenged her: “If you dye a Starry Night hank, call me”. Lo scialle è lavorato dal basso verso l’alto, ha un bordo traforato decorato con perline (inserite con l’uncinetto, come da istruzioni incluse nel modello). La forma a mezzaluna è ottenuta grazie ai ferri accorciati.
