MATERIALS
Yarn: The sweater can be knitted entirely with scrap yarn, but you can also acquire yarn just for this project. You will need two yarns or sets of yarn (one as the main colour and the other for striping):

MC: Yarn in similar shades (the sample sweater has white as MC), approx. DK-weight or slightly heavier (273 yds / 250 m – 100 g). For example Sandness Garn Merinoull, Retrosaria Mungo and BC Garn Semilla Melange are great options.

CC: Yarn in other colours for striping, approx. fingering-weight or thinner (437 yds / 400 m – 100 g). The sweater is worked with two yarns held together.

The grey sweater was knitted with the following yarns held together:
Tukuwool DK (100% Finnish wool, 273 yds / 250 m – 100 g), colourway 03 Auri.

Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair (57% mohair, 28% silk, 15% wool, 232 yds / 212 m – 25 g), colourway 1022.

If you want to knit the sweater with one single yarn, choose an aran-weight yarn (164 yds / 150 m – 100 g). For example, De Rerum Natura Cyrano, BC Garn Northern Lights and Isager Alpaca 3 work well held single.

You will need approx. 655 (670, 830, 980, 1230) (1420, 1613, 1820) g in total or 1072 (1105, 1367, 1608, 2023) (2329, 2647, 2986) yds / 980 (1010, 1250, 1470, 1850) (2130, 2420, 2730) m.

Needles: US 7 / 4.5 mm and US 8 / 5 mm32” / 80 cm circular needles.

Notions: 5 stitch markers.

GAUGE
16 sts x 24 rnds = 4” / 10 cm on US 8 / 5 mm needles in Stockinette Stitch, after blocking.

CONSTRUCTION
This boxy sweater is knitted top down in the round holding two yarns together. The shoulderlines are shaped while working German Short Rows at the neckline. After working the shoulder section with increases, the front and back pieces are worked flat, separately, to equal lengths. After this they are again worked in the round.
