This ethnographic mitten from Vidzeme begins with a combination of ribbing followed by knit and purl rows. The upper mitten is knit in two colors. A small amount of a third color is required for use in the cuff. The gauge as indicated above is for an 8.5” mitten. Changes in yarn or needle size may change the gauge. Check your gauge in pattern before casting on.
