What you will need:

• Yarn – Baerenwolle Yarns in the Baerfoot Sock Base (100g = 400m sock yarn). - Medium Size – 100g / 400m of Main body colour, and 100g/400m of contrast colour for border edging – alternatively you can use two skeins of the same colour to make a single colour shawl. - Large Size – 2x 100g / 400m (800m) of Main body colour, and 100g/400m of contrast colour for border edging – alternatively you can use three skeins of the same colour to make a single colour shawl.

• Needles – 4mm (US 6) on Long Cable to accommodate all the stitches at the end.

• Notions – Stitch Markers to mark increases and centre column, you can use more to mark out each pattern repeat if you wish (this is recommended for beginning lace knitters).

• Gauge – Approx 18-20 sts/ 4 inches after blocking (although gauge is really not too important with this shawl as long as you are liking the fabric you are getting). Please note any difference in gauge may affect the amount of yarn you require to finish the shawl so ensure you have enough for the size you are making.

• Regarding alternative Yarn choices – I would recommend using a plump fingering weight yarn to give a nice squishy shawl which feels like a hug when wrapped around, however; I also believe the larger sized shawl will work beautifully in lace weight with 3.5mm needles.

Instructions are included in both a charted and written format.

• If you wish to use the Charted instructions then you will only need to print Pages 4-8

• If you wish to use the Written Instructions then you will only need to print Pages 9-18

Techniques & Special Stitches Used:

K2tog - Knit 2 stitches together (1 stitch decrease)
SSK - Slip 2 stitches knitwise one at a time & knit together
through the back loop (1 stitch decrease)
K3tog - Knit 3 stitches together (2 stitch decrease)
SK2P - Slip 1 stitch Purlwise, Knit the next two stitches
together, pass slipped stitch over (2 stitch decrease)
