Only two stitches are involved - purl and knit.

I made this hat for newborn to 3 months old baby because of limited amount of yarn (leftover from a big unknown skein)

This pattern is available through Ravelry, but even non-Ravelry knitters can get the pattern via paypal and e-mail from my blog. The hat is fairly simple to knit even for skilled beginners.
