Verisimilitude Shawl
Verisimilitude, other than being my favorite word, is the state of appearing similar to the truth - not real, simply looking like it.
This shawl involves some weaving, but only in the most basic sense - no special skills or equipment needed here, just a few yards of a fabric or ribbon that speaks to your soul in a real way.
Techniques: Magic Circle, dc, crossed dc, puff stitches. Stitch explanations and links to tutorials provided.
Yarn: You will need approximately 910 yards of worsted weight yarn. The sample uses Lion Brands Touch of Yak in the color Rose Dust, which has been discontinued.
Hook: Size K/6.5mm or whatever size gives you a beautiful drape to the fabric
Notions: Tapestry needle, scissors, stitch markers, up to 3 yards of fabric depending on how much weaving you want to do (the sample used a yard)
Final Measurements: Final Size: 70in (178cm) wingspan by 31in (79cm) deep after blocking
As always, feel free to contact me with any questions. Enjoy!
