Veneenveistosanat is worked from the bottom up. The sweater has a simple cable pattern in the body and colourwork on the sleeves. You can also use different colours of waste yarn to work the colourwork.

Jalovilla Räsy (70% Finnish wool, 30% recycled wool, 100 g = 241 yds / 220 m) and Jalovilla Uuhi (100% Finnish wool, 100 g = 252 yds / 230 m). Sample shown in colourways Kaste (MC) and Kuusi (CC).

You can substitute Jalovilla Räsy and Uuhi with another DK weight yarn (or any yarn you can get gauge with). Great alternatives are for example Finnish Tukuwool DK, Vuonue Kierrätys-Tilta or Portuguese Rosa Pomar Brusca.

US 6 / 4 mm circular needles (16–32” / 40–80 cm) for neckline and hem ribbing. US 6 / 4 mm DPNs for sleeve ribbing (if not using the Magic Loop Method). US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needles (32–40” / 80–100 cm) for cable pattern and colourwork. Or size to get gauge.
